Emergency Management

There are actions that should be taken before, during and after an event. The Village of Volente commits to identify potential hazards that could impact our area and plan for any necessary actions. State & county emergency management offices also help identify potential hazards in our area as well as in surrounding areas and throughout the state.  Detailed information is provided in each of the state and county plans as well as recommendations you should consider when facing an emergency situation.

Please take time and visit the following links and share the hazard-specific information with family members and include pertinent materials in your family disaster plan.

Wildfire Prevention

Texas is currently experiencing widespread high to extreme forecast wildfire danger. The combination of high temperatures, dry vegetation and windy conditions increases the potential for significant wildfires resistant to control. Texas A&M Forrest Service has created resources to help prevent wildfires and track the current heat threat.
