LCRA closed floodgates at Wirtz and Starcke dams Friday evening. No floodgate operations are underway or planned at this time, but LCRA continues to release storm runoff through hydroelectric generation at one or more of the Highland Lakes dams. Conditions could change rapidly with additional rainfall or higher inflows, as the region is saturated from recent rains that dropped more than 7 inches of rain in some areas of the Hill Country. LCRA is closely monitoring conditions and may need to open additional floodgates along the Highland Lakes over the weekend. LCRA encourages the public to remain alert to local conditions and be prepared to take actions to protect people and property.
